The Power of Story . . .I've been writing all my life but began pursuing fiction publication a few years ago, about the time my kids discovered that duct tape can control a fair amount of bleeding and frozen lasagne is actually not from the devil.
I believe in the power of story - after all, Jesus used parables to teach timeless, life-changing, eternally significant truths. Story can carry us to new worlds, kindle hope, provoke thought, assure us we're not alone. Shine light in dark places. Change us. What an honor and a privilege to be able to use words in such a way! Though I love the deep-throated grumble of a Harley, muscle cars, and old school rock, I am also a tiny bit of a romantic. If only Jane Austen were around to endorse my books . . . As a fan of all things Jane, I am a sucker for an intelligent story that explores things like the value of character, honor, forgiveness, unconditional love, courage, faith, and self-sacrifice. I also appreciate literary dramas with a hint of mystery, romance, and subtle wit. Some of my favorite titles (besides the works of Jane Austen) include: The Language of Flowers (Vanessa Diffenbaugh), The Mountain Between Us and Chasing Fireflies (Charles Martin), Summer of Light and Levi's Will (Dale Cramer), Just Between You And Me (Jenny B. Jones), Embrace Me (Lisa Samson), Water For Elephants (Sara Gruen), Beneath A Southern Sky (Deb Raney), River Rising (Athol Dickson) to name a few. My first published book, Savanna's Gift, is a Romantic Christmas novella (eBook from White Rose Publishing). My full-length novels are in the process of finding publishing homes, but there are plenty of great Christian fiction titles offering hope and encouragement while you patiently await mine.
